Join Vince as he teaches you how to use the CBI Maker Space ShopBot, a CNC router. In this Safety & Basic Use class you will make a wooden sign. Closed-toed shoes required, hearing and eye protection available. Once you successfully complete this class you can use the ShopBot during open volunteer hours for a low daily or monthly rate.
Join instructor Michelle in this Safety and Basic Use class, learn to use a laser cutter to cut, etch, and engrave designs in a variety of materials. Work with acrylic, wood, paper, cardboard, leather, etc. Using graphic software like Inkscape, cut intricate designs and engrave highly detailed images at the touch of a button. The sky is the limit with this simple and versatile tool!
Once you successfully pass this class, you can use this equipment for creating your own projects at the CBI Maker Space as a member during open volunteer hours for a usage fee. Closed toe shoes are required to safely use this equipment.
A clinic where beginners can come and learn the free CAD tool named Onshape. Experienced users are welcome as well. The first half is reviewing the basics. The second half is modeling various objects for practice.
Join instructor Greg Wood as he guides you safely on use of the wood turning lathe to complete your own project of a pen or seam ripper. Once you complete this workshop, you will be ready to move on to other project classes and become a member of the Maker Space. Membership is $40 per month or $10 per day. Closed toe shoes are required in the Maker Space.
Eye and ear protection are recommended (we have both available). For safety reasons, no loose-fitting clothing and no hanging jewelry when working on the lathe.
